My Italian mother, a housewife who always wanted to be a Hollywood actress .At 78 she still watches late night gangster movies at 2 or 3am.
My dad used to be perpetually shooting on a super 8 and I thought it was normal.
I lived and went to school in Tuscany, spent 2 years in a 13th century Tuscan school , ended up with the same teacher as my mother and father.
In 1980 I saw Paul Weller on T.V and decided to call my self a “ MOD”.
A teenager obsessed with wearing strictly black and white clothing -60’s British “Mod” style, they nicknamed me‘Two Tone Tonelli’.
My obsession with anything british pop culture was legendary. In 1989 I followed my passion for sixties rock and roll all the way to London ,where i felt right at home. I established a dynamic career that kept me away from home for almost a decade. My photography has been a passport into so many lives my work has taken her to over 80 cities world-wide.

Kim says;
In 1975, my 10-year-old older brother took our family photos group. Our prints came back from the chemist with our heads cut off!
“Can I take the family shots instead” I asked my Dad.
“NO!” came his response.( Girls don`t do that).
That moment I decided to become a photographer.
I was 9… years old. Now I would show him. My father was a passionate amateur photographer, famous in thefamily for taking thousands of Super 8 family movies and photographs during my childhood. I guess Photography is blood thing!
Obsessed with wearing strictly black and white clothing ala 60’s British Mod style, I was nicknamed ‘Two Tone Tonelli’.
I was obsession with a band called The Jam.
At 18, a friend and I skipped my R.M.I.T university chemistry class to hangout at the posh Rockman`s Regency Hotel.
It was the afternoon after a 1985 Melbourne “Queen” Concert, we thought we might spot the band. We did they drove up right in front of the coffee lounge.
It was thrilling to see Freddie Mercury and the band arriving and in seperate limousine. Freddie in his own !
Right then, I made the decision to follow my dream to go to live in London. There I met and worked with some of the world’s greatest music icons, in fact, every band I idolised on my teenage bedroom wall.
I even got a spot on a Yorkshire afternoon kids educational programme ,(co hosted by a fish called “BRILL” ) as the photography expert. It was the nineties- 90’s ”Brit pop”. I coverd live shows with legends such as Blondie, and David Bowie.
I spent a brief afternoon Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones, Oasis, Blur, Cher modfather Paul Weller.A dream I never thought possible for this young Italian girl from the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, far from the frenetic world of 90’s London pop scene.
I have loved my work, every exciting moment of it and it has taken me to over 50 cities around the world.
I`m so very Grateful !
